This news follows confirmation that The War Between the Land and the Sea , originally planned for 2026, will now air earlier than expected — later this year, in fact. The five-part spin-off will focus on the military organization UNIT as they confront the return of the classic villains, the Sea Devils. The series stars Russell Tovey and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, alongside Doctor Who regulars Jemma Redgrave, Alexander Devrient, and Ruth Madeley.
Russell T Davies, never shy about his excitement, recently described the spin-off as “absolutely brilliant,” admitting that post-production magic has made it even better than he initially imagined.
