Dispatch Earns Near-Perfect Scores, Becomes One of PS5’s Best Rated Games

The new episodic superhero comedy Dispatch is taking the PlayStation community by storm — and it’s already being hailed as one of the best-rated PS5 games on the PlayStation Store. Developed by AdHoc Studio, a team of former Telltale Games developers, Dispatch has managed to capture players’ attention with its humor, storytelling, and striking visual art style.

As of now, the game boasts an impressive 4.93 average rating out of 5 from 3,391 user reviews, with a whopping 96% of players giving it five stars. That’s a near-perfect score that places it right up there with some of the most celebrated PS5 titles. Even on Steam, the response has been overwhelmingly positive — with 89% of the 7,795 user reviews marking it as a “thumbs up.”

It’s not unusual for newer releases to start strong, but Dispatch seems to be maintaining its reputation, much like other top performers. For comparison, Ghost of Yotei started at a 4.89 rating and still holds a 4.81 after tens of thousands of reviews. Similarly, Death Stranding 2 sits at 4.88 from over 40,000 players, while Hollow Knight: Silksong holds a solid 4.61. The standout this year, though, has been Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 , sitting proudly at 4.90 with over 67,000 ratings — even earning a “Game of the Year” nod from Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi and Xbox’s Phil Spencer.

What makes Dispatch

Currently, only the first four episodes are out — episodes 1 and 2 dropped on October 22, followed by 3 and 4 on October 29. The remaining four will release in quick succession, with episodes 5 and 6 arriving on November 5, and the finale — episodes 7 and 8 — scheduled for November 12. Some fans might choose to wait until all episodes are released, but the excitement is already palpable.

The Standard Edition is priced at £28.99 (or $29.99), while a Deluxe Edition — including digital artbooks and comics — is available for £36.99 ($39.99). Given its quality, humor, and emotional depth, Dispatch is being recommended as a must-play title for PS5 owners.

It’s refreshing to see a smaller episodic game standing shoulder to shoulder with major blockbusters. With its near-perfect reviews and the buzz surrounding each new episode, Dispatch has officially joined the ranks of PS5’s elite — and it might just become a modern classic in storytelling-driven gaming.
