Danny Mac himself shared that taking on the storyline carried “a massive duty of care.” He explained that the show’s team worked closely with We Are Survivors to ensure that every scene was portrayed with honesty and respect. “It’s been a real journey,” he said. “We’re speaking to and for people who’ve experienced this in real life. It’s something no one will see coming — and it happens to a character no one would expect.”
