Chargers Dominate Steelers in 25-10 Sunday Night Victory
Last night, the Pittsburgh Steelers were overwhelmed by the Los Angeles Chargers in a one-sided 25-10 loss at SoFi Stadium on Sunday Night Football. From start to finish, the Chargers controlled the game, with their defense proving to be the standout unit, holding the Steelers to just 221 total yards. Pittsburgh’s offense, led by veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers, struggled mightily, managing only a single touchdown with less than three minutes remaining. The performance left the Steelers’ AFC North lead precarious, now just one game ahead of the Baltimore Ravens.
The Chargers’ defensive dominance was clear throughout. Los Angeles forced three turnovers and sacked Rodgers multiple times, including a crucial safety by Khalil Mack in the first quarter. The Steelers’ offense could not find any rhythm, going three-and-out on five of their first seven possessions and finishing the first half with just 85 total yards. Rodgers finished 16-of-31 for 161 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions, posting one of the lowest passer ratings of his career at 50.6. Despite these struggles, Pittsburgh’s running game, led by Kimani Vidal, showed some promise, with Vidal rushing 25 times for 95 yards and keeping the defense honest. Jaylen Warren also contributed with 70 rushing yards and a couple of receptions, though the offense overall failed to sustain momentum.

On the other side, Justin Herbert and the Chargers’ offense relied on quick passes to counter Pittsburgh’s pass rush. Herbert, who faced nine hits including five sacks, threw for 220 yards and a touchdown, often getting the ball out in just over two seconds. Ladd McConkey led the receiving corps with 107 yards and a critical touchdown, including a 58-yard catch-and-run in the fourth quarter that set up another score. Veteran Keenan Allen also made headlines by breaking the franchise record for receptions, a milestone celebrated in front of Chargers fans.
Los Angeles’ defensive line, after a shaky start to the season, returned to form. The unit consistently pressured Rodgers, limited Pittsburgh’s rushing attack to 73 yards, and stifled the Steelers’ offense on third downs, allowing zero conversions in the first half. With this win, the Chargers extended their winning streak to three games and now sit 7-3, just a game behind the Denver Broncos in the AFC West, while Pittsburgh fell to 5-4.
Looking ahead, the Chargers will face the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 11 before enjoying a bye week and then hosting the Las Vegas Raiders. The Steelers will try to bounce back at home against the Cincinnati Bengals, followed by a challenging road trip to Chicago. With Baltimore looming close in the standings and two upcoming division matchups, Pittsburgh’s once comfortable lead in the AFC North is under serious threat.
In the end, it was a night where the Chargers’ defense and opportunistic offense did enough to secure a decisive victory, while the Steelers’ offense was left searching for answers, leaving fans to wonder if this marks the start of a difficult stretch for Aaron Rodgers and his team.
