But the familiar frustrations returned, and they returned fast.

What had appeared to be a turning point turned into yet another reminder of how inconsistent this Eagles team has been. After those three early touchdowns, the offense was completely shut down. No more points were scored, and drive after drive stalled out as Dallas adjusted and tightened up on defense. By the time the final seconds ticked away, the Cowboys had completed a full comeback and sealed a 24–21 win with a game-ending field goal — a finish that stunned a Philadelphia squad that had controlled the first half so convincingly.

A.J. Brown, who had been heavily involved early, acknowledged that Dallas clearly made adjustments, but he also pointed toward execution slipping away. His first-half performance was electric: a 16-yard touchdown, a spectacular near-score that was overturned on replay, and several chain-moving plays. But from the second quarter through the third, he didn’t record a single catch. The offense just couldn’t sustain drives, and by the time Brown re-emerged in the fourth quarter, the rhythm had already been lost.

Jalen Hurts still finished with 289 passing yards and the touchdown to Brown, along with two rushing scores. Yet even he admitted the game was a “tale of two halves,” and that the team simply didn’t play a complete game. Only one first down was earned from the end of the first quarter until late in the fourth, a stretch that gave Dallas all the time they needed to chip away at the lead.

Late miscues only added to the collapse — a missed field goal, two costly fumbles, and several stalled opportunities that could have changed the outcome.

Instead of widening their division lead, the Eagles now fall to 8–3, just as the Cowboys tighten the gap behind them. And with a short week ahead before hosting Chicago, Philadelphia suddenly finds itself searching again for answers — particularly ones that can last longer than a quarter or two.

The highs were there. The lows were louder. And once again, the Eagles walk away knowing a winnable game slipped right through their hands.
