Horror on UK Train: Ten Injured, Nine Fighting for Life After Stabbing Rampage
A shocking and terrifying incident unfolded in the UK on Saturday night when multiple passengers were stabbed aboard a London-bound train, leaving ten people injured — nine of them fighting for their lives. The attack took place on the 6:25 pm service from Doncaster to King’s Cross, and it turned an ordinary evening commute into a night of chaos and fear.
According to British Transport Police, the situation was declared a “major incident,” with Counter Terrorism officers assisting in the investigation. Armed police quickly responded and stopped the train at Huntingdon Station, about 120 kilometers north of London, where two suspects were arrested. Passengers were left in panic and disbelief as emergency crews, including air ambulances and paramedics, rushed to the scene.
Witnesses described the moments of horror inside the train. One commuter, Olly Foster, told the BBC he first thought the shouts of “run, there’s a guy stabbing everyone!” were part of a post-Halloween prank. But within seconds, he realized the screams were real. He recalled pushing through panicked passengers, noticing blood on the seats and even on his own hands. Another passenger reportedly tried to protect a young girl and was stabbed in the neck. People inside the carriage could only arm themselves with a bottle of whiskey, hoping the attacker wouldn’t come their way.

Authorities said that after the train was halted, police in forensic suits searched the carriages while medical teams treated victims on the platform. Nine of the ten injured passengers were reported to have life-threatening wounds, and all were taken to nearby hospitals for emergency care.
Cambridgeshire police initially activated “Plato,” a national code word used when responding to potential terror attacks, but this was later rescinded. Officials have not confirmed any motive so far. Chief Superintendent Chris Casey said it was too early to speculate, adding that a full investigation was underway to determine what led to this violent outburst.
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer called the attack “appalling” and praised the emergency services for their swift response. Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood urged the public to avoid speculation as details continue to emerge. Meanwhile, the mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Paul Bristow, described the incident as “horrendous,” saying his thoughts were with everyone affected.
The attack caused major disruption along the East Coast Main Line, with train operator LNER suspending services and warning travelers of continued delays. The entire country has been left shaken by what many witnesses described as a “scene from a horror film.”
As investigators piece together what happened, the focus now is on the victims — many of whom remain in critical condition — and on understanding why such a violent act could occur on an ordinary evening train journey.
