Happy Thanksgiving! Now that the holiday morning has arrived, it finally feels like the festive season is officially underway. And honestly, nothing marks the start of Turkey Day quite like the iconic Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. This year, the celebration reached its 99th edition, and the excitement around it could practically be felt across the country.

The parade kicked off bright and early at 8:30 a.m. ET on Thursday, November 27, right in the heart of midtown Manhattan. As always, the starting point was set at West 77th Street and Central Park West, where crowds gathered long before dawn to find the perfect viewing spot. From there, the massive procession began its familiar route—moving south toward 59th Street, turning east to Sixth Avenue, then continuing to snake its way down to its grand finale in front of Macy’s flagship store in Herald Square. For many, this journey has become a cherished tradition, one that signals joy, nostalgia, and the beginning of holiday magic.

For anyone watching from home, the parade was made easy to enjoy. It could be seen live on NBC or streamed on Peacock, both starting at 8:30 a.m. ET. NBC also scheduled an encore broadcast for 2 p.m. ET, perfect for those juggling kitchen duties or early family gatherings. Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, and Al Roker returned once again as the broadcast hosts, keeping viewers company with their familiar warm energy.

An important addition this year was the live audio description on the SAP channel for blind and visually impaired viewers. Macy’s emphasized that this feature was included to ensure the broadcast could offer a more inclusive experience, and it was provided through Descriptive Video Works. It was a meaningful enhancement that allowed even more people to fully enjoy the spectacle.

Of course, it wouldn’t be the Macy’s Parade without an impressive lineup of performers. This year’s roster was stacked with names from across music, Broadway, and pop culture. Stars such as Busta Rhymes, Ciara, Calum Scott, Foreigner, Jewel, Lainey Wilson, Shaggy, Cynthia Erivo, Colbie Caillat, and so many more filled the morning with live performances, festive energy, and unforgettable moments. Even animated fan favorites and characters from shows like “KPop Demon Hunters” added their voices to the celebration.

Between the floats, the marching bands, the dancers, and the massive character balloons drifting between Manhattan’s tall buildings, the experience delivered everything people hope for—a blend of tradition, entertainment, and that unmistakable New York City holiday spirit.

If Thanksgiving is all about bringing people together, then the Macy’s Parade once again did exactly that, whether you were bundled up on the sidewalk or watching warm at home.
