Mandy Moore Opens Up About Motherhood, NFL Project, and Kids’ Health

Mandy Moore has been everywhere lately — juggling motherhood, marriage, and a brand-new chapter in her acting career. In a recent sit-down on Today With Jenna & Friends , the actress and singer shared heartfelt stories about her family life, her new Hulu project, and her ongoing efforts to raise awareness about RSV — a respiratory virus that hits close to home for her family.

Now a proud mom of three — Gus, Ozzie, and little Lou — Mandy admitted that life is delightfully chaotic. She laughed while talking about her “mom group” with Hilary Duff, saying it’s been her go-to circle for parenting advice, laughs, and the occasional vent session. She and her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, recently celebrated seven years of marriage, and Mandy described the milestone as something she’s truly grateful for, calling her family “the heartbeat of everything I do.”

Professionally, she’s stepping into new territory again — this time with This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman for an upcoming football-themed Hulu series. With a playful grin, Mandy joked, “You guys, I feel like Taylor Swift. I had to learn all about the NFL — and I knew nothing about it before!” The series, which began filming recently, centers around the world of professional football, where Mandy plays the daughter of an NFL team owner — a role she describes as “a boss in her own right.”

The actress even mentioned connecting with real-life inspiration for her role, including Charlotte Jones of the Dallas Cowboys, hinting that her character might be loosely based on someone preparing to take over a family legacy.

But beyond the screen, Mandy’s real-life mission right now is deeply personal. Both of her sons battled RSV back in 2023 — a frightening experience that left a lasting impression. Although her boys didn’t need hospitalization, it was enough to make her want to take action. That’s why she’s now partnering with Sanofi to help educate parents about the virus and prevention options.

She spoke passionately about the importance of trusting one’s doctor, emphasizing that while the internet is full of opinions, parents need a trusted medical voice they can turn to. “There’s so much information out there,” she said, “but having an honest conversation with a doctor you trust makes all the difference.”

When it comes to getting her kids through doctor visits, she admitted there’s one trick that never fails — candy. “It’s our secret weapon,” she joked, saying that letting her kids pick a flavor beforehand turns tears into smiles.

Balancing career, family, and advocacy isn’t easy, but Mandy seems to be embracing it all with grace. As she put it, “Parenting is messy, beautiful, and full of surprises — and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”
