Ravens vs. Bengals Thanksgiving Showdown and the Halftime You Might Miss
So, let’s talk about this year’s Thanksgiving night matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and the Cincinnati Bengals — a game already packed with storylines, but now also tied to one of the day’s biggest entertainment questions: where can you actually watch Lil Jon’s halftime performance?
Thanksgiving football has always been a tradition, almost as essential as the turkey on the table. And while the early games will feature big-name halftime acts — Jack White for the Lions and Post Malone for the Cowboys — the Ravens saved a high-energy closer for the night game with Lil Jon taking over at M&T Bank Stadium. You’d think a performance like that would be shown nationwide, right? Well, not exactly.

NBC, which broadcasts the Thanksgiving night game every year, isn’t planning to air Lil Jon’s halftime show in full. Instead, they’ll show only a short highlight clip during their usual halftime program. This isn’t new for NBC — since joining the Thanksgiving lineup back in 2013, they’ve stuck to a format centered around a feature story rather than a full performance. Last year, for example, they spotlighted Dolphins fullback Alec Ingold’s personal journey before quickly cutting to a brief clip of Lindsey Stirling’s show. Then it was off to commercials, as usual.
This year, NBC has prepared a special tribute to coaching legend John Madden, narrated by Andy Reid and supported by appearances from Hall of Fame voices like Joe Gibbs and Art Shell. It’s expected to take up the bulk of halftime, leaving Lil Jon’s on-field energy mostly for those inside the stadium — and for everyone else to catch through short clips or whatever might pop up on social media. For now, there’s no announcement that a full recording will be posted elsewhere.
Beyond the entertainment, the game itself has plenty of excitement. The Ravens are sitting atop the AFC North, tied with the Steelers, while the Bengals arrive hoping to spoil the night — now boosted by the return of Joe Burrow. Thanksgiving games always feel bigger, and this one is no exception.
Adding to the pregame atmosphere, Broadway and Hamilton star Renée Elise Goldsberry will perform the national anthem. She may not be a Maryland native, but when you have the chance to bring in a Tony- and Grammy-winning voice, it’s hard to say no.
If you’re planning to watch the game, it kicks off Thursday, Nov. 27, at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC. Streaming will be available on Peacock, all from M&T Bank Stadium as Baltimore closes out the holiday slate in style — even if Lil Jon’s full halftime performance will be mostly reserved for the lucky fans in attendance.
