Schools Closed Tomorrow in Several States Due to Elections, AQI, and Fairs

Hey everyone, here’s the latest update on school schedules for tomorrow, November 11, 2025. If you’ve been wondering whether schools will be open or closed, here’s a clear picture for you. Most schools across India resumed regular classes last week after the festival holidays and some rain-related closures, but tomorrow, there are exceptions in a few states due to elections, severe air quality, and local events.

In Delhi-NCR, schools may remain closed if the air quality index, or AQI, continues to stay in the severe category. Right now, certain areas have already reached ‘severe’ levels, which can cause serious breathing problems. To put it in perspective, breathing air in a ‘very poor’ AQI zone is like smoking 6 to 10 cigarettes a day, and in a ‘severe’ zone, it’s equivalent to smoking 16 to 20 cigarettes daily. Because of these health concerns, most schools in Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad have suspended outdoor activities, cancelled assemblies, and installed air purifiers to protect students. Parents are advised to check the official school websites or WhatsApp groups for the latest updates.

In Bihar, schools will remain closed tomorrow in the districts going to polls. Voting will be held for 122 assembly seats across 20 districts, including East Champaran, West Champaran, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Purnia, Bhagalpur, and several others. To ensure smooth and safe elections, the state government has directed that all government and private schools in these districts will stay shut for the day.

Meanwhile, in Telangana, a public holiday has been declared for schools and colleges within the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency due to the by-election. Similarly, in Jammu and Kashmir, schools will remain closed in connection with bye-elections for the Budgam and Nagrota Assembly constituencies.

On the other hand, schools in Anupshahr, Bulandshahr district in Uttar Pradesh, which were previously closed for the traditional Lakkhi Kartik Purnima Ganga Snan Mela, have already resumed classes and will remain open tomorrow. And in states affected by Cyclone Montha, like Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Odisha, most schools and colleges have reopened after the disruptions, although the weather forecast predicts some rain and storms across parts of India in the coming week.

For parents and students, the safest way to stay updated on school closures or holidays is by following the official school WhatsApp groups. Schools often announce last-minute closures due to weather, fairs, or other events, and these platforms provide real-time notifications directly from the school.

So, to summarize, tomorrow is a holiday in Bihar, Telangana, and parts of Jammu and Kashmir due to elections, while schools in Delhi-NCR might close depending on AQI levels. Other districts like Anupshahr will continue regular classes. Keeping an eye on official school channels will ensure you don’t miss any last-minute announcements.

Stay safe, check the air quality, and enjoy the holiday if your school happens to be closed!
