Smokey Robinson Faces New Sexual Assault Allegations From Former Employees
Hey everyone, there’s some serious news coming out about Motown legend Smokey Robinson. Recently, two former employees have come forward with sexual assault allegations against him, adding to a case that’s already been in the headlines. Just six months ago, four women filed a $50 million lawsuit against Robinson, accusing him of sexual misconduct, and now this latest development has intensified the legal battle.
According to court documents obtained by multiple outlets, the new motion to amend the complaint was filed on November 14, 2025. The two new accusers, referred to in the papers as John Doe 1 and Jane Doe 5, claim that Robinson tried to force them into inappropriate touching. Jane Doe 5 says she endured what she describes as “constant” harassment while working as a housekeeper for Robinson between 2005 and 2011. She alleges that he would ask her to join him in the bathroom while he showered and even instructed her to scrub his back.
John Doe 1, on the other hand, says he began working for Robinson and his wife, Frances Gladney, doing detail work on their cars in 2013. He claims that Robinson started harassing him almost immediately, reportedly appearing in his underwear and touching himself inappropriately. John Doe 1 says he was fired after the incident but was asked to return a year later, at which point the harassment allegedly continued, causing him significant emotional distress and fear for his safety.

Robinson’s legal team, led by attorney Christopher Frost, has firmly denied the new allegations, calling the lawsuit an “organized avaricious campaign to extract money from an 85-year-old legend.” Frost insisted that once the truth comes out, the public will see that the claims are false and motivated by financial gain.
All of the accusers, including the new ones, say they eventually quit because of the alleged assaults, and many expressed fear about coming forward due to potential retaliation, public shame, and immigration concerns. The new allegations reportedly mirror those of the original plaintiffs in terms of the nature of the misconduct, locations, and time periods involved. The court has set a hearing on the motion to amend the complaint for January 6, 2026.
This is part of a long-running legal saga. Earlier this year, Robinson actually filed a countersuit against some of his former employees, calling their claims of sexual assault false and alleging the lawsuit was an attempt at extortion. Meanwhile, his case remains under investigation by the Special Victims Bureau, which has confirmed it is actively looking into the criminal allegations.
So, while Smokey Robinson is celebrated for decades of musical achievements, he’s now facing some very serious legal challenges, and these new allegations only add to the ongoing scrutiny surrounding him. It’s a situation that will continue to unfold in the coming months, and the court proceedings are definitely something to keep an eye on.
