Spotify Wrapped 2025: What We Know and What to Expect
Every year around this time, it feels like the internet suddenly syncs into the same rhythm. Social media becomes flooded with colorful graphics showing everyone’s top songs, favorite artists, and those guilty-pleasure tracks they swear they didn’t play that many times. Yes—Spotify Wrapped season is almost here again, and people are already asking whether Spotify Wrapped 2025 is out and when they can expect to see their yearly listening recap.
So far, Spotify hasn’t officially announced the release date for this year’s Wrapped. That said, the platform is incredibly consistent. Looking back at the past few years gives us a pretty reliable pattern. Wrapped has almost always landed in late November or early December, with recent drops including Dec. 4 in 2024, Nov. 29 in 2023, and Nov. 30 in 2022. Based on that history, it’s safe to assume this year’s edition is just around the corner, likely in that same window.

A big question that comes up every year is when Spotify actually stops tracking your listening data for Wrapped. People often wonder if their early-December holiday music binge counts. Spotify doesn’t give exact cutoff dates, but it has confirmed in the past that tracking continues past Halloween and stops “a few weeks before Wrapped launches.” So if you're looping Christmas playlists in early December, it’s probably not going to influence your 2025 recap.
Getting your Wrapped usually requires nothing more than having a Spotify account and actually using it. Last year, Spotify reminded users to spend “a few hours with the songs and podcasts you love” to qualify for a personalized recap. They also recommended updating the app through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to make sure everything displays properly when the feature rolls out.
The excitement around Wrapped is fueled every year by its cultural moments. Last year, Taylor Swift topped Spotify’s global charts with more than 26.6 billion streams. Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” emerged as the most-streamed global song, and the world also saw artists like Bad Bunny, The Weeknd, and Kendrick Lamar dominating across streaming platforms. This year has also been packed with major musical releases—new albums from Swift and Lady Gaga, the rise of the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack, and viral hits from all-girl group Katseye.
Apple Music Replay, Spotify’s closest competitor, follows a similar end-of-year tradition, though its release timing varies slightly. Replay typically arrives in late November or early December, and as of now, its 2025 edition has not been released either. This year, Apple named Tyler, The Creator as its 2025 Artist of the Year, following Billie Eilish’s win the year before.
And interestingly, Wrapped's influence has grown so much that even news outlets like The Sheridan Press have begun releasing their own year-in-review “Wrapped”-style summaries, proving just how woven into pop culture this annual ritual has become.
So while Wrapped 2025 isn’t out just yet, all signs point to its arrival very soon. And when it does drop, your social feeds are guaranteed to be filled once again with everyone proudly sharing their musical identities—whether they meant to or not.
