Student Injured in Shock Reading College Assault
A disturbing incident unfolded at Reading College on Thursday afternoon, leaving students and staff shaken. Police and emergency services were called to the campus on Kings Road after a male student was injured in what authorities described as an “assault with injury.” The student was quickly taken to the hospital, where his injuries were confirmed to be not life-threatening.
According to Thames Valley Police, a suspect has been arrested in connection with the attack. Armed officers were initially deployed to the college, and for a brief time, the campus was placed under lockdown as a precautionary measure. In a recorded message on the college’s phone line, the administration reassured parents and the public that the injured student’s family had been informed and that all necessary steps had been taken to ensure the safety of everyone on campus. “Please be reassured that all actions have been taken to ensure student safety,” the message said.
The area surrounding Reading College was cordoned off temporarily as officers conducted their investigation, but normal activity has since resumed.
