Sunshine, Showers and Shifting Skies Across France This Sunday

So, for this Sunday, November 30, 2025, the weather across France is shaping up to be one of those days where you almost need three different outfits depending on where you live. It’s a real patchwork of sunshine, clouds and scattered rain, and the country feels almost split in two with its contrasts. Still, there is some good news, especially for those in the northwest, where clearer skies are expected to make a comeback as the day goes on.

This morning, the atmosphere has been a mix of bright spells and thicker cloud layers. In the central regions and parts of the Hauts-de-France, sunshine is already making an appearance, offering a calm and pleasant start to the day. But from the Jura down to the Côte d’Azur, as well as across the western regions and stretching into Languedoc-Roussillon, a more subdued, cloud-heavy sky has settled in. Meanwhile, areas like the Allier, the Aveyron and even parts of the Bas-Rhin are dealing with actual rain — nothing too violent, but enough to make umbrellas useful.

A few areas are under special watch today too. Météo-France has placed seven departments under yellow vigilance. Six of them are being monitored for avalanche risks in the Alps and western Pyrenees, thanks to recent snowfall and shifting conditions. The Rhône, on the other hand, is under vigilance for potential flooding, so residents there are being asked to stay alert.

Temperature-wise, the country is waking up to a real range of values. Lille is just around 4°C, Strasbourg barely reaches 1°C, and places like Orléans start the day near 2°C. It’s a mild morning along the Atlantic and in the southwest, with La Rochelle and Metz around 7°C and Pau closer to 5°C. As often happens, Corsica is enjoying the warmest morning, with Ajaccio hitting 15°C.

Through the afternoon, the northern edge of the country is expected to brighten even more, while the Alps and the Golfe du Lion will see more cloud build-up. Some rain will continue in the Vosges, and the northwest will stay under a solid blanket of clouds despite some temporary clearings earlier. The temperature climb will be noticeable: cities like Cherbourg-en-Cotentin or Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port could reach around 11°C, while Ajaccio might push up to 16°C.

Looking toward tonight and into Monday, expect a mostly cloudy sky across the country, except in the far southeast and parts of Corsica, where clearer conditions should hold on. Tomorrow morning will bring widespread clouds again, with only a few regions in the southeast enjoying sunlight.

All in all, it’s one of those classic late-autumn days — varied, changeable and slightly unpredictable — but with enough bright spells to lift the mood in many areas.
