Thomas Frank Confirms Randal Kolo Muani’s Rise in Tottenham’s Attack

Tottenham Hotspur fans have been waiting to see what Randal Kolo Muani can bring to the pitch, and it seems that moment is finally getting closer. Manager Thomas Frank has given an encouraging update on the French striker’s progress, confirming that Kolo Muani is “definitely getting closer” to full fitness and ready to play a more central role for Spurs.

Kolo Muani, who joined Tottenham on loan from Paris Saint-Germain late in the transfer window, has had a slow start in North London. His move came right after Dominic Solanke picked up an injury, leaving the team short on attacking options. But since his arrival, Kolo Muani has been gradually building up match fitness, making brief appearances in recent games against Aston Villa and AS Monaco. His 21-minute outing in the Champions League midweek marked his longest appearance yet as he continues recovering from a dead leg.

Frank spoke about the striker during his pre-match press conference ahead of Tottenham’s clash with Everton, explaining that the player has now completed a good block of training sessions and is edging closer to being ready for 90-minute matches. “He’s definitely getting closer,” Frank said. “It’s the first time he’s had an okay sustained block of training and some minutes too. He’s not there 100% physically yet, but he’s in a place where he can be used—and that’s good news.”

And Spurs fans certainly saw that improvement during the match against Everton. Kolo Muani linked play well, showing flashes of sharpness and creativity that gave a glimpse of what he’s capable of when fully fit. Frank admitted that he’s been pleased with what he’s seen so far. “There’ve been glimpses in all the games he’s played,” the manager added. “As he gets more physical training and more minutes, he’ll play with greater intensity and sharpness. It’s only a matter of time.”

Now, the conversation has turned to whether Kolo Muani should be starting ahead of Richarlison and Mathys Tel. Both players have struggled recently—Richarlison, in particular, has failed to score in his last eight appearances—making a strong case for the Frenchman to take the lead role. With his strength, versatility, and true striker instincts, Kolo Muani offers something different: a player who can hold up play, create chances, and score goals with efficiency.

Given Tottenham’s recent attacking challenges, many believe it’s time for Thomas Frank to hand Kolo Muani a starting spot—especially with a big game against Chelsea on the horizon. The signs are clear: Kolo Muani is ready to step up, and Spurs might just have found their next key man up front.
