Vicky Pattison Dazzles with a Near-Perfect Tango on Strictly Come Dancing
This week’s Strictly Come Dancing episode was packed with rhythm, flair, and a few surprising leaderboard twists — but it was Vicky Pattison who stole the spotlight with a near-perfect Tango that had the judges on their feet.

Dancing with her partner Kai Widdrington, Vicky delivered a routine that was nothing short of electric. Their performance to The Fate of Ophelia from Taylor Swift’s new album The Life of a Showgirl was filled with emotion, power, and precision. The judges were clearly captivated — Craig found only one tiny flaw (her left hand, of course), but even he couldn’t deny the brilliance of the dance. Motsi Mabuse and Shirley Ballas called it “the best dance of the night so far,” while Anton Du Beke admitted he was “a bit stunned” by how good it was. When the scores came in — 39 out of 40 — it was clear that Vicky had firmly claimed the top spot.
Just one point behind was West End star Amber Davies, whose fiery Salsa with Nikita Kuzmin earned her a dazzling 38 points. Their routine to Sylvester’s disco classic You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real) was bursting with energy and flair. Anton summed it up perfectly with an astonished “Man alive!” while Craig called it “ah-mazing.”
Meanwhile, EastEnders actress Balvinder Sopal impressed with her Couple’s Choice Bhangra routine — a vibrant performance that got Motsi up on her feet and cheering. It was described as her “best dance so far,” earning her 34 points. YouTuber George Clarke also made a strong impression with a graceful Viennese Waltz, praised by Shirley as featuring “some of the best footwork I’ve ever seen.”
Last week’s top scorer, Lewis Cope, brought the heat again with an energetic Cha Cha Cha that earned 35 points, tying with Lioness Karen Carney. However, it wasn’t all high scores across the board. Athletes Harry Aikines-Aryeetey and Alex Kingston both landed on 30 points after fun but slightly flawed performances. Harry’s Samba was praised for its “bounce and energy,” while La Voix, who ended the night at the bottom of the leaderboard, was told she “brought sunshine to the dancefloor” — possibly the kindest critique of the evening.
As the live show came to an end, voting quickly opened — and just as swiftly closed. Fans were urged to get their picks in fast before the lines shut at 8:30 p.m. With the competition now at its halfway point, the stakes are higher than ever. Tomorrow night’s results show will reveal who’s heading home, featuring a special Remembrance Sunday performance by the Band of the Royal Air Force Regiment and a musical appearance by James Morrison.
For now, one thing is certain — Vicky Pattison’s Tango will be remembered as the moment she truly conquered the Strictly dancefloor. And as Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman reminded everyone, until next time… keeep dancing!
