The first official footage from Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film The Odyssey has finally been released online, and it’s already creating a huge buzz. This is Nolan’s take on Homer’s legendary epic, and from what’s been shown so far, it’s shaping up to be a massive cinematic experience.
The trailer introduces Matt Damon as Odysseus, the battle-hardened Greek hero trying to find his way home after the fall of Troy. He’s shown bearded, weathered, and clearly burdened by years of war. It has also been revealed that around two million feet of IMAX film were used during production, underlining just how technically ambitious this project is.
As for when audiences can experience the full journey, The Odyssey is scheduled for release in mid-July 2026, arriving first in Australia on July 16, followed by the UK and the US on July 17.
