Martin Kemp Bows Out of the Jungle After 20 Unforgettable Days
Spandau Ballet legend Martin Kemp has officially become the sixth contestant to be voted off I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! , and his exit has sparked plenty of conversation. After spending 20 days in the jungle—and even skydiving his way into the show—Kemp walked out feeling satisfied, emotional, and genuinely grateful for the experience he’d just lived through.
When he reflected on his time on the show, Kemp made it clear that the real highlights weren’t the trials or the challenges, but the simple moments spent talking with his campmates. He admitted that he isn’t someone who usually makes new friends, so the fact that he bonded so well with the group clearly meant a lot to him. He said it felt good to realise how patient he could be, and even joked that he’d been emotional at almost every turn. By the time he left, he felt like everything he wanted to experience had been achieved, and that he could take home a handful of brilliant anecdotes from the jungle.

Kemp didn’t leave without sharing his pick for who he hopes will win the series. He’s backing Shona McGarty, best known from EastEnders , to take the crown. He said she arrived shy and reserved but slowly transformed into what he lovingly described as a “beautiful songbird” after she began singing around camp. That shift, according to Kemp, made her one of the standout personalities of the entire season.
His own journey in the jungle also carried a family connection. His son, Roman Kemp, previously competed on the show in 2019, finishing in third place. So Martin’s stint felt like he was following in familiar footsteps.
Elsewhere in the episode, camp conversations turned unexpectedly to Taylor Swift when social media star Ginge—Morgan Burtwistle—shared proudly that he was a “Swiftie.” The light-hearted moment even had Kemp teasing him by asking whether he’d snog her, which Ginge admitted he’d be crazy to turn down.
But the camp wasn’t all laughter. Ruby Wax’s departure the night before left everyone stunned. Many thought she had what it took to win, and Ginge said he was “gobsmacked” to see her go. Without their leader, the camp was told there would be no more chiefs, leaving them to assign chores among themselves. Tom Read Wilson celebrated the change, calling it “democracy at last.”
Then came the Bushtucker trial, where Kemp teamed up with Read Wilson for “Lethal Libraries,” a challenge full of snakes, insects, and hidden books. Kemp watched from a desk swarming with creepy crawlies while his partner searched through snake-filled shelves for titles including The Jungle Book . Despite the chaos—and a bit of singing from Kemp and the presenters—the duo managed to win five out of seven stars.
The show returns Friday night, and with two contestants set to leave, the tension in the camp is only getting heavier as the finale draws closer.
