Nathan MacKinnon Named NHL First Star After Avalanche’s Perfect November

Nathan MacKinnon has been recognized as the NHL’s first star of the month after an incredible November performance that helped the Colorado Avalanche dominate the league. The Avalanche went 11-0-2, racking up 24 points in the month—their highest single-month total since January 2022—and MacKinnon was at the center of it all.

Over 13 games in November, MacKinnon found the scoresheet in 11 of them, delivering seven multi-point outings, including a remarkable stretch from November 8 to 11 where he recorded 12 points over three consecutive games. That performance tied a feat last achieved by Peter Forsberg in 1995. MacKinnon led the NHL in even-strength points with 20 and was among the league leaders in plus/minus (+20), goals (11), assists (15), and shots on goal (57). His contributions have helped the Avalanche maintain their position at the top of the NHL standings, with a season total of 44 points in 25 games so far, putting him in strong contention for individual honors once again.

Robertson led the NHL with 13 goals across 15 games and matched his career-high with a seven-game goal streak from November 11 to 25. He recorded eight multi-point games during the month, including three consecutive three-point performances, helping the Stars earn an 11-2-2 record for November. His offensive output pushed Dallas to second place in the overall league standings.

Chicago Blackhawks center Connor Bedard was named the third star after posting 23 points in 14 games. Bedard’s performance was key to the Blackhawks’ resurgence, keeping them within one point of a playoff spot in the Western Conference. He recorded four games with at least three points, demonstrating his growing impact on the team despite his young age.

Rounding out the monthly awards, Minnesota Wild goaltender Jesper Wallstedt was named rookie of the month. Wallstedt went undefeated in six games with a 1.14 goals-against average, a .967 save percentage, and three shutouts, showcasing his potential as a future star in the NHL.

Overall, November was a month defined by high-powered offense and standout individual performances. MacKinnon’s leadership and consistency not only propelled the Avalanche to the top of the standings but also reinforced his status as one of the league’s elite players. Robertson and Bedard added to the excitement, proving that the next generation of stars is already making a big impact on the ice.

The NHL’s recognition of these players highlights how pivotal individual excellence can be in shaping a team’s success, and November will certainly be remembered as a showcase of elite talent across the league.
