January 2026 PS Plus Games Kick Off the Year With Racing, Disney, and Indie Fun
Sony has officially revealed the first batch of PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for 2026, and it’s a solid mix that feels like a strong way to start the new year. Beginning January 6, three games will be made available to all PS Plus subscribers, and as usual, they can be kept in your library for as long as your subscription stays active. This month’s lineup brings together high-speed racing, classic Disney charm, and a surprisingly deep indie adventure.
The biggest headline title here is Need for Speed Unbound, a racing game that originally launched toward the end of 2022. It marked the franchise’s return after a long gap, and it was instantly noticed for its bold visual style. Cel-shaded effects are blended with realistic cars, giving the game a look that feels fresh and energetic. Set in the fictional Lakeshore City, which closely resembles Chicago, the game focuses heavily on illegal street racing. Players are pushed to balance risk and reward, as every race increases a “Heat” level that makes police chases more intense. Between races, cars can be customized and upgraded, while weekly qualifiers lead toward the ultimate racing showdown known as The Grand. The rapper A$AP Rocky also appears as part of the story, adding to the game’s cultural flair. It’s worth noting that this title is only available on PS5.

Next up is Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, a modern remake of the cult-classic Wii game from 2010. The motion controls are gone, but what remains is a polished platformer packed with Disney fan service. Mickey Mouse is pulled into the Wasteland, a strange world filled with forgotten characters and abandoned ideas from Disney’s past. Using a magical paintbrush, players shape the world around them while uncovering an emotional story that also introduces Oswald the Lucky Rabbit in a major way. The remake features improved visuals and smoother gameplay, and it can be played on both PS4 and PS5.
Rounding out the lineup is Core Keeper, an indie title that quietly built a strong reputation during its long early-access period. Now fully released, the game mixes mining, crafting, base-building, and exploration inside a massive underground cavern. While it can be played solo, it really shines as a multiplayer experience for up to eight players, encouraging teamwork as secrets are uncovered and powerful bosses are challenged.
As January arrives, December’s PS Plus games are on the way out. Subscribers have until January 5 to claim titles like Lego Horizon Adventures, Killing Floor 3, The Outlast Trials, Synduality Echo of Ada, and Neon White before they’re gone. Overall, January’s lineup feels varied and generous, setting a confident tone for PlayStation Plus in 2026.
