Legendary Historian İlber Ortaylı Dies at 78, Leaving a Legacy That Shaped Turkish History
One of the most recognizable voices in modern historical scholarship has fallen silent. Renowned Turkish historian, author and public intellectual Professor İlber Ortaylı has died at the age of seventy-eight while receiving treatment in hospital, bringing an end to a remarkable career that helped millions understand the past in a deeper way.
