Teen Sensation Suryavanshi Stuns IPL as RR Chase 202 to Beat RCB
A 15-year-old has just rewritten the script of the Indian Premier League in one of the most explosive batting displays the tournament has ever witnessed, as Rajasthan Royals pulled off a stunning chase against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru posted a strong total of 201 for 8 in their 20 overs, powered by a solid 63 from Rajat Patidar and a quickfire start from Virat Kohli, who looked in fluent touch with 32 off just 16 balls. He smashed eight fours and seven towering sixes, reaching a fifty in only 15 deliveries, one of the fastest in IPL history. His partnership with Dhruv Jurel, who produced a composed unbeaten 81, dismantled RCB’s bowling attack and silenced a packed ground.
Even with the return of Josh Hazlewood strengthening RCB’s pace unit, there was no answer to the raw aggression on display. Suryavanshi targeted both pace and spin without hesitation and by the time he reached his half-century with a clean six, the match had already tilted heavily in Rajasthan’s favour. The duo added 108 runs in just 37 balls, breaking the backbone of the chase early.
After Suryavanshi’s dismissal to Krunal Pandya, Rajasthan briefly wobbled, losing quick wickets, but Jurel held firm and guided the team home with calm authority. Rajasthan crossed the target of 202 with two overs remaining, sealing a six-wicket win.
The result marks RCB’s first defeat of the season and reinforces Rajasthan Royals’ position at the top of the table, still unbeaten and growing in confidence with every match.
