Tragedy at Nürburgring: Veteran Driver Dies in Seven-Car Crash
A devastating moment has shaken the world of motorsport, as a routine qualifying race turned into a fatal tragedy on one of the most dangerous circuits in the world.
Veteran driver Juha Miettinen, aged 66, has died following a horrific seven-car crash during the ADAC 24-hour Nürburgring Qualifiers in Germany. The incident unfolded in the early stages of the race, when multiple cars collided at high speed on the narrow and unforgiving Nürburgring track, a circuit known for its complexity, with more than 150 corners and very little margin for error.
Race officials immediately halted the session, red-flagging the event as emergency crews rushed to the scene. He was extracted from his vehicle and taken to the medical center, where attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.
