Disney Airport Luggage Transfer EXPANDS to New Airlines in 2026

A major travel convenience at Walt Disney World is entering a new phase and it could quietly reshape how millions of visitors arrive in Orlando.

Walt Disney World is expanding its Airport Luggage Transfer service, allowing more travelers to skip baggage claim and have their checked bags delivered directly to select resort hotels. This is part of a growing pilot program that connects Orlando International Airport with Disney resort properties and it is now widening access beyond its original airline restrictions.

Until now, the service was mostly limited to Southwest Airlines passengers. That already made a noticeable difference for guests staying at Disney’s Value Resorts, where the system first launched. Travelers could check their bags at their home airport, fly into Orlando and head straight to their Disney hotel without stopping at baggage claim. Their luggage would arrive separately, typically within a few hours.

Now, the expansion opens the door for passengers flying American Airlines and United Airlines as well. That means a much larger share of domestic travelers can potentially use the service, making arrivals smoother and less time-consuming during one of the world’s busiest tourism hubs.

The system itself is run through a third-party logistics partner, BagCheck, which handles the movement of luggage between the airport and participating Disney resorts. While only select Value Resorts are currently included, the infrastructure is already handling thousands of rooms and a steady flow of guests testing the program in real conditions.

What makes this development important is not just convenience, but what it signals about the future of travel at Orlando International Airport. Industry observers see this as a possible stepping stone toward larger-scale changes in airport-to-resort transportation, including discussions about whether more integrated shuttle systems could eventually return in some form.

For Disney guests, the impact is immediate and practical. Less time in queues, fewer steps after landing and a more seamless transition into the vacation experience. But there are still limitations. The service is not yet available at all Disney hotels and international flights are not included.

Even so, this expansion suggests momentum is building. After years of reduced on-site services, Disney appears to be carefully rebuilding parts of its travel ecosystem, testing what works and slowly scaling it up based on demand and logistics.

For now, travelers heading to Orlando this summer will be watching closely as more airlines come online and more guests gain access to this streamlined arrival experience.
