Max Verstappen placed fifth for Red Bull, while George Russell had to settle for sixth in a Mercedes car that clearly struggled to match its earlier-season pace in the hotter Miami conditions. Lewis Hamilton followed in seventh, leaving Ferrari with mixed but still promising signs overall.

Further back, Alpine grabbed attention with Franco Colapinto in eighth and Pierre Gasly in tenth, while Isack Hadjar split them in ninth. It was a tougher outing for others, including both Williams cars and several midfield teams who failed to progress beyond the earlier qualifying segments.
