Artem Chigvintsev Faces Domestic Violence Arrest After Emergency Call
Artem Chigvintsev, known for his role on “Dancing With the Stars,” has recently found himself at the center of a troubling legal situation. Reports indicate that paramedics were dispatched to Chigvintsev’s home early Thursday morning following a call reporting a “medical emergency.” The call came in around 8:30 a.m. PT, with the emergency response teams on their way to the residence he shares with his wife, Nikki Bella, a former WWE star. However, in an unexpected twist, the emergency request was later canceled by another call to 911. Consequently, the paramedics and firefighters were turned back before they reached the location.
Despite this initial intervention, just over an hour later, Chigvintsev was arrested by the Napa County Sheriff’s Department. The arrest occurred just before 10 a.m. on a felony domestic violence charge. The charge falls under a California penal code that makes it a felony to injure a spouse or cohabitant in an act of domestic violence, provided that visible injuries are present. His bail was set at $25,000, and he has since been released.

The specifics of the incident remain shrouded in mystery. The identity of the alleged victim has been kept confidential, and it remains unclear whether Nikki Bella was involved in the situation. Bella had been spotted in Napa just a day before the arrest, enjoying a facial treatment at a local spa, which has led to speculation about her involvement or lack thereof in the incident.
This arrest follows a controversial past incident involving Chigvintsev. In 2015, English TV presenter Fern Britton accused him of abusive behavior during their time together on the BBC’s “Strictly Come Dancing.” Britton claimed that Chigvintsev would physically lash out and verbally berate her. Chigvintsev denied these allegations, asserting that he treated Britton with respect and care, and that the claims were inconsistent with his true character.
Chigvintsev and Bella, who celebrated their second wedding anniversary earlier this week, had recently shared heartfelt tributes to each other on social media. Bella’s anniversary post highlighted their love story, emphasizing how their relationship was destined from the start. The couple, who married in a lavish 2022 ceremony in Paris, share a four-year-old son, Matteo.
As the investigation continues, law enforcement officials are examining whether Chigvintsev has a history of violence. The Napa County District Attorney’s Office has yet to review the case formally, and no additional details about the victim or the circumstances of the alleged violence have been released. Both Chigvintsev and Bella’s representatives have yet to comment on the situation publicly.
This unfolding drama underscores the complexities and challenges faced by public figures as their personal lives become the subject of intense scrutiny.
