Kerala Women's Panel Demands Accountability Amid Ranjith Allegations
In recent developments from Kerala, the state’s Women's Commission has made a significant statement regarding the allegations against Malayalam film director Ranjith. This follows accusations by Bengali actor Sreelekha Mitra, who has alleged inappropriate behavior by Ranjith during a 2009 film project.
On August 24, 2024, P Sathidevi, the Chairperson of the Kerala Women's Commission, addressed the media and emphasized that the commission is prepared to take decisive action if the allegations are substantiated. Sathidevi's remarks came in response to the troubling accusations made by Mitra, who claimed that Ranjith had acted inappropriately during a film shoot in Kochi.
