The message emphasized that while the name and the digital storefront may have changed, the commitment to offering the best-in-class brands remains unwavering. This move comes at a time when House of Fraser’s physical presence has been shrinking rapidly. Earlier this month, the group closed its Cabot Circus store, leaving only 15 House of Fraser stores still in operation—a sharp decline from the 59 stores it had when Mike Ashley's Frasers Group acquired the brand in 2018. This reduction in physical stores highlights the group’s strategic shift from traditional brick-and-mortar outlets to a more premium, modern retail concept under the Frasers banner.

Michael Murray, the Chief Executive of Frasers Group, had already hinted at this shift last year. He warned that the traditional department store model might be phased out completely, making way for the "Frasers" concept, which promises a more upscale, contemporary shopping experience.
