Barcelona secured an emphatic 4-1 win against Girona, maintaining their unbeaten streak and extending their lead at the top of La Liga. The young star Lamine Yamal stole the show with a brace, further solidifying his reputation as one of football’s rising talents. The 17-year-old winger opened the scoring at the 30-minute mark by capitalizing on a defensive error from Girona's David Lopez, effortlessly lifting the ball past goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga. Just seven minutes later, Yamal struck again, this time with a perfectly placed first-time finish from the edge of the box after a free kick rebounded into his path.

Girona, who finished third last season, initially showed promise but struggled to break down Barcelona's defense. They came close to earning a penalty after Bryan Gil’s header hit the arm of Inigo Martinez, but the decision was overturned by VAR. Barcelona’s relentless attack continued into the second half when Dani Olmo added the third goal with a spectacular finish from a tight angle just two minutes after the break. This marked his third consecutive game scoring for the club, a feat not achieved since Cesc Fabregas in 2011.
Pedri then capped off the night for Barça, receiving a brilliant pass from Marc Casado and slotting it past the Girona keeper in the 64th minute to make it 4-0. Despite a spirited effort, Girona only managed a consolation goal in the 80th minute through Cristhian Stuani. The night, however, ended on a sour note for Barcelona when Ferran Torres was shown a red card for a reckless challenge after being on the pitch for just 17 minutes.
This victory extends Barcelona’s lead over Real Madrid, placing them four points clear at the top of the table. With five consecutive wins, Hansi Flick’s team appears to be in dominant form as they march forward in their La Liga campaign. Girona, on the other hand, will need to regroup after a humbling defeat at home despite showing resilience late in the match.
