Bears Defense Shines Despite Loss to Texans: Key Standouts from Week 2
In a gripping Week 2 matchup, the Chicago Bears fell to the Houston Texans, 19-13, on Sunday Night Football. The Bears’ defense delivered a commendable performance that almost stole the game, despite an underwhelming offensive display that highlighted ongoing struggles.
The Bears' defense deserves special mention for its resilient effort throughout the game. Despite the offense's continued difficulties, the defense showcased its capabilities against a Texans team many expect to contend for the Super Bowl. The Bears held the Texans to just one touchdown, with rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud finding some success in the air but being contained effectively. The defense limited Houston to only 76 rushing yards and tallied three sacks on Stroud. The Bears' defensive line and secondary combined to put the brakes on a high-powered offense, only conceding three points in the second half—a field goal in the dying moments of the game.
