BGSU Student Wins Prestigious Voyager Scholarship for Public Service

Exciting news out of Bowling Green State University (BGSU) as one of its students, Ryan Lothamer, has been awarded the esteemed Voyager Scholarship for Public Service. This national recognition is particularly noteworthy as Lothamer is the only recipient from Ohio this year, and BGSU has now celebrated three consecutive years of students receiving this prestigious honor.

The Voyager Scholarship, created by former President Barack Obama, former First Lady Michelle Obama, and Brian Chesky, co-founder and CEO of Airbnb, is designed to support and cultivate future leaders in public service. The program provides substantial financial aid, including up to $50,000 over two years to cover college expenses, a $10,000 stipend for summer work-travel experiences, and $2,000 in Airbnb credits each year for ten years. Additionally, recipients gain access to a network of leaders and mentors in the field of public service and are invited to exclusive summits and speaker series.
