Kristen Bell and Adam Brody Haven't Seen Each Other's Iconic Shows, And It Hurts!
In a recent conversation on the "Armchair Expert" podcast, Kristen Bell and Adam Brody made a surprising admission: neither of them has watched each other's famous TV shows! Despite both being household names in early 2000s teen dramas—Bell in Veronica Mars and Brody in The O.C. —the two actors revealed they’ve never tuned into their co-star’s breakthrough roles.

The conversation kicked off with host Dax Shepard, who happens to be Bell’s husband, asking her if she ever watched The O.C. , where Brody portrayed the quirky and lovable Seth Cohen. With a laugh, Bell confessed, “I’ve never seen any episode of The O.C. " Although she didn't follow the show, Bell admitted she did have a crush on Brody at the time, as many fans did. “Everybody did,” she added, smiling.
But Brody’s response was just as surprising. He sheepishly admitted that he’d never seen an episode of Veronica Mars , which starred Bell as the high-schooler-turned-private investigator. The room filled with groans of playful disappointment, with Bell jokingly saying, “That one hurts.” Shepard, along with his co-host Monica Padman, couldn’t help but express their disbelief, with Shepard even calling Brody’s admission “amoral.”
The moment was full of lighthearted teasing, but it’s clear that both Bell and Brody had busy lives outside of television. As Shepard pointed out in Bell’s defense, she wasn’t spending much time watching TV in her twenties—she was “out doing life.” Similarly, Brody explained that he was more into going to the movies than watching teen dramas during that period.
Despite their mutual lack of show-watching, there’s still plenty of admiration between the two. Bell reflected fondly on the fact that she adored Brody, even if she never saw his iconic role. Meanwhile, Brody joked that he still hasn’t seen The Sopranos , admitting it’s a goal he intends to remedy one day.
Though it’s funny and perhaps a little ironic that these two stars haven’t caught each other's breakthrough shows, their shared careers and respect for each other are undeniable. Fans, of course, continue to love them both—whether or not they’ve seen every episode of their respective series!
