
Kyle Clifford Charged with Triple Crossbow Murder of Carol, Hannah, and Louise Hunt
In a shocking case, Kyle Clifford, 26, has been charged with the murders of Carol Hunt, 61, and her two daughters, Hannah, 28, and Louise, 25, in a brutal crossbow attack at their home in Bushey, Hertfordshire, on July 9, 2024. The victims, tragically, were the wife and daughters of John Hunt, a well-known BBC racing commentator. Clifford was discovered the following day, on July 10, with injuries in a cemetery in Enfield, which delayed the police’s ability to interrogate him while he was under hospital care.
Clifford is set to appear in Westminster Magistrates' Court via video link from police custody. The case has drawn significant attention due to its horrific nature and the high-profile status of the Hunt family. In addition to murder charges, Clifford faces accusations of false imprisonment and possession of offensive weapons. John Hunt and his surviving daughter, Amy, issued a public statement expressing their immense heartbreak, stating that their pain "cannot be put into words." The community has also rallied around the family, with a fundraiser established to support Mr. Hunt and Amy receiving more than £120,000 in donations.
Police have been meticulously investigating the case to piece together the full circumstances of the attack. Detective Chief Inspector Nick Gardner confirmed that, although the investigation took time, the team has gathered substantial evidence to proceed with the prosecution. Gardner also extended sympathies to the Hunt family, reiterating that the police will do everything within their power to ensure justice is served.
