Lionel Messi is on track to make his highly anticipated return to the field for Inter Miami, following a two-month recovery from an ankle injury. Inter Miami's head coach, Gerardo Martino, confirmed Messi's availability for the match during a press briefing. “Yes, he’s fine now,” Martino said. “Yesterday, he returned to training. He is considered for tomorrow’s game, and after training, we will finalize our strategy for him. We are thrilled to have the best player in the world back with us.” Messi did experience a minor setback with a sore throat that kept him out of Wednesday's practice, but he returned to full training on Thursday. Martino remains hopeful that Messi will continue to progress well.
Despite Messi’s extended absence, Inter Miami remains at the top of the MLS standings with 59 points from 27 games.
