Stuttgart kept pushing, and at times, it felt like they could take the lead. They continued to carve out opportunities, but Real Madrid’s resilience came to the forefront, as always.
With just seven minutes remaining, Antonio Rüdiger headed in a goal from a corner, giving Madrid a vital lead. Stuttgart didn’t relent, still throwing everything they had at Madrid’s defense. In the dying minutes of the match, Madrid’s teenage sensation Endrick sealed the win, finishing off a counterattack to make it 3-1.
It was a captivating contest, a perfect example of the excitement that the Champions League brings. Stuttgart earned admiration for their brave performance, but Real Madrid's pedigree and ability to grind out results in Europe shone through once again.
