Micah Parsons to Undergo MRI Following Cowboys' Victory Over Giants
Micah Parsons, the Dallas Cowboys' star linebacker, is set to undergo an MRI after suffering an ankle injury in the team's gritty 20-15 win over the New York Giants on Thursday night. This win was crucial for the Cowboys as they leveled their record to 2-2, but the victory came at a cost. Parsons, who is a key figure in the Cowboys’ defense, initially left the game with a neck issue, which was evaluated and cleared. However, in the fourth quarter, he sustained an ankle injury, which forced him to be helped off the field by the medical staff.

While initial X-rays were negative, Parsons revealed after the game that he still needed to undergo an MRI to assess the severity of the injury. "I just iced it. I know very little. I've got an MRI tomorrow. I'm going to try to get back next week," said Parsons. The Cowboys have a mini-bye week ahead, which could help with recovery, but it’s unclear if Parsons will be ready to face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 5.
This was a much-needed win for Dallas after a challenging stretch where they played two games in just four days. The defense, led by Parsons, fought through numerous injuries and fatigue to hold off the Giants in a physical battle. Despite the injuries, Parsons' performance on the field has continued to solidify his position as one of the most dominant pass rushers in the league. A three-time All-Pro, his presence on the field is crucial for the Cowboys' defense, and fans are anxiously awaiting the results of his MRI.
If the MRI confirms that his injury isn't severe, Parsons will likely return to action soon. However, if the MRI reveals more damage, his availability for the Steelers game could be in question. Either way, the Cowboys will need to prepare for whatever comes next as they push through this early-season challenge. For now, it seems like the worst-case scenario may have been avoided, but the upcoming MRI will provide a clearer picture of Parsons’ status going forward.
