In an exciting twist for football fans and music lovers alike, Noel Gallagher has taken on a new role as a designer, crafting Manchester City's latest fourth kit. This unique project melds Gallagher's iconic musical background with his deep-rooted support for the club. The kit, which draws inspiration from Oasis's seminal 1994 debut album, Definitely Maybe , was unveiled on September 12, 2024.

Gallagher, the former Oasis guitarist known for his influential contributions to rock music, has expressed that designing the new kit was a "proper honour." The 57-year-old, who has passionately supported Manchester City for half a century, revealed that when Puma approached him with the idea, he immediately agreed. "If you walked up to your 16-year-old self and said, 'in 40 years you'll be designing kits for the team,' you'd be like 'what?'" Gallagher mused. His excitement is palpable as he describes the kit as "unique" and "definitely striking," reflecting his own nostalgic sentiments.

The release of the kit was celebrated with a visually striking photo shoot featuring City manager Pep Guardiola and various team members. The promotional images creatively replicate the cover of Oasis’s Definitely Maybe , albeit with a Manchester City twist. While the original album cover was photographed in the living room of Oasis member Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs and featured Manchester United’s George Best alongside City’s Rodney Marsh, the revamped version includes imagery of Manchester City legends like Colin Bell and Sergio Agüero.

The new kit, dubbed the 'Definitely City' kit, will make its debut in European fixtures, starting with Manchester City's Champions League clash against Inter Milan on September 18. Though Gallagher is credited as a co-designer, specific details of his role in the design process remain under wraps.

This collaboration also marks a significant moment for Oasis fans, as the album that catapulted them to fame recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. Gallagher has noted that revisiting Definitely Maybe has been a nostalgic journey, reinforcing the album's enduring magic and its impact on both his musical career and his football fandom. "Definitely Maybe has never lost its magic to me," Gallagher said, highlighting how the album's legacy continues to resonate and inspire, now in the form of a football kit.

The fusion of Gallagher's musical legacy with Manchester City's football heritage brings a fresh, nostalgic vibe to the sportswear world, offering fans a tangible link between their beloved club and the iconic music of the past.
