The accident, which took place just before midnight, involved Monger crashing into three parked cars—a Volkswagen Lupo, a Volkswagen Golf, and a Citroen C—causing extensive damage to all vehicles involved. Not only did the crash affect these cars, but it also resulted in damage to a nearby lamp post, as well as a hedge and a wall belonging to a local resident. The sheer scale of the destruction raised concerns about the potential consequences had there been pedestrians in the vicinity at the time of the crash.

In court, Monger pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention, a decision that has led to him being ordered to pay fines and costs totaling £2,694. Rick Scholey, the supervisor for the Road Traffic Collision team at Surrey Police, commented on the incident, noting that Monger “was not paying attention when he lost control of his car,” highlighting the severity of the situation. Fortunately, no one was hurt during the incident, which could have had dire outcomes if others had been on the road.
