Israeli Network Arrested for Spying for Iran: Major Espionage Ring Uncovered
Recently, Israeli authorities arrested a group of citizens accused of spying for Iran. This network, according to Israeli police and the Shin Bet domestic intelligence agency, had been secretly operating for about two years. They were allegedly gathering critical intelligence on Israeli military sites and key infrastructure, including highly sensitive locations such as the Nevatim and Ramat David airbases. Both sites have been targeted in recent missile attacks by Iran and Hezbollah.
The arrested individuals were not isolated actors. Reports suggest they had carried out around 600 missions over the past two years, gathering intelligence that could severely compromise Israel’s national security. Their espionage activities focused on Israeli defense facilities, including the Kirya in Tel Aviv, which houses Israel's defense headquarters, as well as naval and air force bases and key energy infrastructure like the Hadera power plant. Investigators discovered that the network's members had received hundreds of thousands of dollars in payments, often through cryptocurrency, from their Iranian handlers.

Further details indicate that these Israeli citizens were in direct communication with Iranian intelligence agents known as ‘Alkhan’ and ‘Orkhan,’ who coordinated their operations. The network members used advanced equipment to capture images and collect information on Israeli defense systems, including the Iron Dome missile defense sites. They transmitted this data to Iranian agents, fully aware that it could help Iran target Israeli facilities in future attacks.
Interestingly, the group also engaged in surveillance of specific Israeli individuals. Security assessments revealed that Iranian agents had tasked the network with gathering intelligence on civilians, raising concerns about possible plans to harm certain individuals.
This case follows the September arrest of an Israeli businessman accused of spying for Iran and attempting to plan high-profile assassinations, including the Israeli prime minister. Together, these incidents highlight the broader scale of espionage operations against Israel by Iran and its proxies, emphasizing that intelligence wars between these two nations are ongoing and far from one-sided.
