Although we don’t have an official release date yet, Slow Horses has been consistent in rolling out new seasons at a brisk pace. With Season 3 airing in late 2023 and Season 4 just wrapping up in September 2024, it’s likely that Season 5 will drop around mid to late 2025. In fact, the fifth season has already been filmed, so fans won’t have to wait too long to rejoin Jackson Lamb and the rest of the misfit spies at Slough House.
Season 5 will revolve around the book London Rules , where the intelligence world is once again in chaos. This time, the Slow Horses find themselves amidst a series of terror attacks across the country. As always, they must navigate the dangers and dysfunctions of their own team while trying to prevent disaster. Jackson Lamb, the always grumpy but oddly brilliant head of Slough House, knows that in espionage, “London Rules” — a set of unspoken survival strategies — must always apply.
Roddy Ho, the resident tech genius, will find himself at the center of the plot when he gets a glamorous new girlfriend, stirring suspicions among his colleagues. Meanwhile, over at Regent's Park, the Intelligence Service’s new chief, Claude Whelan, struggles to protect a beleaguered Prime Minister while fending off attacks from political adversaries, his own deputy, and a tabloid columnist. As if that wasn’t enough, the Slow Horses will face internal turmoil, personal demons, and their unique talent for making bad situations worse.
Most of the main cast is expected to return, including Gary Oldman as the ever-disheveled Jackson Lamb, Kristin Scott Thomas as Diana Taverner, and Jack Lowden as River Cartwright. However, some characters’ fates are less clear after Season 4’s dramatic finale. For instance, Marcus Longridge, played by Kadiff Kirwan, met a tragic end, so he won’t be returning.
Although there isn’t a trailer for Season 5 yet, fans can rest assured that when it arrives, it will continue to deliver the sharp wit, complex character dynamics, and suspenseful spy drama that has made Slow Horses a standout on Apple TV+.
So, as we await the next chapter in this captivating espionage saga, it’s safe to say that Season 5 will once again pull us into the murky world of British intelligence, where nothing is ever as simple as it seems. Keep an eye out for more updates as we inch closer to the release date!
