Is Macaulay Culkin's 'Cabin Alone' Movie Real? Here's What You Need to Know
There's been a lot of buzz lately around a supposed new Home Alone movie titled Cabin Alone , starring none other than Macaulay Culkin and Catherine O'Hara. Some fans even believed it was coming to Disney+ this December. But here's the truth: it's all a hoax.
The rumors started when a fan, known as YODA BBY ABY, posted a fake movie poster on Facebook. The poster, which looked pretty convincing at first glance, featured Macaulay Culkin in a Christmas sweater, sitting in a cozy cabin alongside Catherine O'Hara, who played his mom in the Home Alone films. The text on the poster teased an exciting plot: Kevin McCallister and his mom are spending Christmas at a remote cabin when burglars Harry and Marv show up, targeting the supposedly empty home. The pair must team up to defend the cabin using outrageous pranks and traps, just like the good old days.

As fun as this sounds, and as much as fans were hoping for a Home Alone return, there’s no truth to it. Disney+ hasn’t confirmed any such project, and the poster was simply a fan creation. The page that posted it, which clearly describes itself as a satire account, is all about making fun of movie rumors and creating playful content. But, despite the obvious red flags—such as the cheesy editing, misspelled names, and a plot description that screams "fan fiction"—many people got swept up in the excitement.
This incident serves as a reminder of how easy it is to get caught up in fake news on the internet, especially when the content seems so genuine. While Home Alone fans were thrilled by the idea of Macaulay Culkin returning as an adult Kevin, there's no official announcement for a sequel. However, there was a Home Alone reboot in 2021, Home Sweet Home Alone , though it didn’t feature the original characters.
Culkin, now 44, is still fondly remembered as Kevin McCallister, and he even brought the character back for a few spoofs in recent years. He starred in a parody video in 2015 called Just Me in the House by Myself and appeared in a Google ad in 2018. But sadly, there are no concrete plans for him to reprise the role in a new feature film anytime soon.
So, while we would all love to see Kevin McCallister and his mom return in a holiday comedy, Cabin Alone is nothing more than a fan’s playful imagination. Let’s enjoy the nostalgia and keep hoping that one day, Hollywood will make a real Home Alone sequel—this time, with adult Kevin defending his own home. But for now, we’ll have to stick with the classics.
