NFL Thanksgiving Matchups: Lions Hope to End Streak, Cowboys Face Struggling Giants, and More!
Thanksgiving Day is a time for family, food, and of course, football. This year, the NFL brings a host of exciting matchups to make the holiday even more thrilling. The Detroit Lions, who have become a staple on Thanksgiving Day, are looking to break an unfortunate streak, while the Dallas Cowboys aim to build momentum against the struggling New York Giants. Plus, there’s more action with the Miami Dolphins heading to Green Bay, and the Kansas City Chiefs hosting the Las Vegas Raiders on Black Friday.
First up, the Lions will take on the Chicago Bears in their 85th Thanksgiving Day game. Detroit has a long history of playing on this holiday, dating back to 1934, but unfortunately, they haven’t won a Turkey Day game since 2016. To make matters worse, they’ve lost their last three Thanksgiving matchups with the Bears. However, this year could be different. The Lions come into the game with a stellar 10-1 record, and despite a few injuries, they are firing on all cylinders. David Montgomery, the Lions' standout running back, will be a player to watch as he faces his former team, the Bears. Chicago, on the other hand, is dealing with a five-game losing streak and will need to dig deep to stop Detroit's high-powered offense. This matchup kicks off at 12:30 p.m. ET at Ford Field and will be broadcast on CBS.

Later in the day, the Dallas Cowboys will host the New York Giants at AT&T Stadium. While the Cowboys have dominated this rivalry, winning 14 of the last 15 matchups, they’ve been struggling at home this season with an 0-5 record at their own stadium. They’ll be hoping to snap that streak after finally breaking a five-game losing run with a victory over the Washington Commanders. Finally, for the nightcap, the Green Bay Packers will face the Miami Dolphins at Lambeau Field. The Packers are coming off three consecutive wins, including a notable victory over the San Francisco 49ers, and will hope to extend their dominance over AFC teams.
