Danny Jones Crowned King of the Jungle in 2024's "I'm A Celebrity"
The 2024 season of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! has officially crowned its winner, with Danny Jones, the McFly frontman, emerging victorious in the final episode. After weeks of intense trials, emotional highs, and low moments, the singer clinched the title of King of the Jungle, with Coleen Rooney finishing as the runner-up and Reverend Richard Coles taking third place.
Danny, overwhelmed by the victory, expressed his gratitude to the public and his campmates, saying it was "amazing" and "surreal" to win. "I gave my all in there, and it's such a lovely feeling to be liked," he shared, teary-eyed. The 38-year-old McFly member, known for his hits like "Five Colours in Her Hair" and "All About You," reflected on his journey, noting how tough the experience had been. "I've had some of the hardest times and some of the highest highs," he admitted, acknowledging the bond he had formed with his fellow contestants. He also gave credit to his campmates, who helped him through the more difficult moments, making the experience more bearable.

Coleen, who came close to winning, showed immense grace despite being narrowly beaten by Danny. The wife and mother, who entered the jungle to make her children proud, congratulated Danny with a heartfelt "you deserve it" and expressed how proud she was to have reached the final. She described the journey as a "strange experience" that had given her time to reflect on her strengths and weaknesses. "It was my turn now," Coleen said, proudly stating how she felt it was important to show her children that they could root for her as much as they did for their father, footballer Wayne Rooney.
While the final saw the two stars battling it out for the crown, there were also plenty of emotional moments. In the final Bushtucker trial, the trio faced a final challenge to secure a last meal before leaving the jungle. It was a test of endurance and teamwork, and although Coleen fell short of the ultimate title, she embraced her experience with humility.
This year's series also featured many colorful characters. Among them were professional dancer Oti Mabuse, boxer Barry McGuigan, and TikToker GK Barry, who all formed unlikely friendships. A memorable pairing emerged between the Reverend Richard Coles and social media star GK Barry, who shared countless heart-to-heart conversations throughout the series. Their bond became one of the most talked-about aspects of the show, with Richard joking about their "bromance" despite the significant age gap.
Other memorable moments came from the twists and eliminations along the way. There were several surprising departures, including Tulisa Constostavlos, who left the jungle early due to feeling "overwhelmed." Despite this, she later expressed her gratitude to the fans and her "Jungle Fam" on social media, showing appreciation for the experience, even though it was short-lived.
In a twist that shocked many, Barry McGuigan and Maura Higgins were sent home in a double elimination just before the finale. While Maura expressed relief and felt "it was her time," Barry showed sadness at not being able to participate in the Celebrity Cyclone, one of the most iconic trials of the show.
As the dust settles on this year's series, Danny Jones stands tall as the deserving winner, his emotional journey captivating viewers. The 2024 season will be remembered not just for the ultimate prize, but for the bonds formed, the hardships faced, and the unforgettable moments that kept audiences tuning in week after week.
