Dayle Haddon Dies in Tragic Carbon Monoxide Leak at Family Home in Pennsylvania

In a heartbreaking turn of events, renowned supermodel and humanitarian Dayle Haddon has passed away due to a suspected carbon monoxide leak at a family home in Solebury Township, Pennsylvania, on December 27, 2024. Authorities have confirmed the tragic death of the 76-year-old former model, while another individual has been hospitalized after being exposed to the toxic gas.

Dayle Haddon, who gained fame in the 1970s and '80s as a celebrated supermodel, was also an advocate for women’s rights and education, having founded WomenOne, an organization dedicated to empowering girls and women. She had transitioned from modeling to humanitarian work, making significant contributions as a UNICEF ambassador and helping to create educational opportunities for girls globally.

The incident occurred early in the morning when emergency responders received a call at around 6:30 a.m. A resident reported finding a 76-year-old man unconscious in the building's detached office or in-law suite. Paramedics from the Lambertville-New Hope Ambulance and Rescue Squad were the first to arrive at the scene, assisting the unconscious man. He was promptly transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Jersey, though his condition remains unclear.

Unfortunately, Dayle Haddon was later found deceased in a second-floor bedroom of the same in-law suite. Local officials confirmed that the cause of death appeared to be linked to a malfunctioning heating unit, which likely caused a dangerous build-up of carbon monoxide inside the building. The New Hope Eagle Volunteer Fire Company detected unusually high levels of the gas at the scene.

The residence where this tragedy took place belongs to Haddon's daughter, Ryan Haddon, and her husband, actor Marc Blucas. Ryan Haddon, who now works as a life coach and hypnotherapist, is the daughter of the late model, and Blucas, known for his role on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," has shared in past interviews his efforts to restore the centuries-old home. Despite ongoing renovations, the family had been living on the property while work continued.

The building, originally built in 1711, is a major project for Blucas, who has spoken about his passion for restoring the historic house. He and Ryan moved to the East Coast to be closer to family, seeking a peaceful and inspiring place to raise their children.

In addition to Haddon’s death, two emergency responders and a police officer were also treated for carbon monoxide exposure at the scene but were reported to be in stable condition. Authorities are still investigating the specifics of the heating unit malfunction and whether any further steps need to be taken to prevent similar tragedies.

This tragic incident has left a deep impact on those who knew and admired Dayle Haddon for her accomplishments both in the fashion industry and her dedication to humanitarian work. She will be remembered for her inspiring life and lasting legacy.
