Eugenie Bouchard Updates Fans After Freak Pickleball Eye Injury

The 30-year-old, who transitioned to pickleball earlier this year, revealed she suffered a scratched cornea during a practice session when a stray ball struck her directly in the eye.
Bouchard detailed the incident on Instagram, posting photos of her swollen and bruised left eye, along with an image of herself wearing a medical eye patch. “Got hit in the eye with a pickleball during training today,” she wrote. “It was a shank off my partner’s paddle straight into the eye. Went to urgent care and have a scratched cornea. The things we do for this sport!” Despite the injury, she reassured fans that she was on the mend and expected to recover in just a few days.
