However, before he could even take the medicine, he blacked out. "I don't remember 20 days," Foxx said, explaining how he woke up in a hospital, unaware of the time that had passed.

Foxx recounted the events leading up to the stroke, describing how his sister, concerned by his symptoms, insisted on taking him to a hospital after a cortisone shot failed to alleviate his pain. At Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, doctors immediately discovered the brain bleed, and he was rushed into surgery. Although the doctors couldn't pinpoint the exact cause of the bleed, they were able to treat it in time, with Foxx's sister praying outside the operating room. He described the surreal experience of going under, saying that while he didn't see the traditional "light" at the end of the tunnel, the moment was oddly peaceful.
The actor expressed his gratitude for his family, particularly his daughters, Corinne and Anelise, who supported him throughout the ordeal. He joked that his daughter didn't want anyone to see him in his weakened state, humorously recalling how he looked disoriented. "My head would do this," he said, imitating his dizzy, post-stroke condition.
