Laura Bailey, well-known for her role in Critical Role , alongside Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul, is set to headline an exciting new project: a Telltale-style video game titled Dispatch . Announced at The Game Awards 2024, Dispatch is a superhero management game that blends strategy, comedy, and office dynamics, offering players a fresh, humorous take on superhero life.

In Dispatch , players take on the role of a 911 dispatcher at a superhero agency. Rather than battling villains directly, you’re responsible for sending out heroes to the city’s emergencies while dealing with office politics, personal relationships, and your own ambitions. You’re essentially running a team of misfit heroes, each with their own quirks and baggage, trying to rise through the ranks while managing the chaos of their day-to-day lives.

The game promises a story-driven experience, featuring multiple-choice scenarios that allow you to shape the outcome based on your decisions. As you progress, you’ll manage a roster of superheroes, each with unique skills and personalities. It’s a blend of strategy and storytelling, where your choices impact not only the city’s safety but also the relationships and development of your team. From upgrading your heroes' skills to balancing their flaws, you’ll need to keep the team together and on track to handle the city's most challenging emergencies.

Besides Bailey and Paul, Dispatch will feature an impressive lineup of voice talent, including Matt Mercer, Travis Willingham, Jeffrey Wright, Erin Yvette, and Jacksepticeye. The game is developed by AdHoc Studios, founded by ex-Telltale developers, bringing a familiar narrative style reminiscent of Telltale’s classic adventure games.

Set to release sometime in 2025, Dispatch is already generating buzz for its quirky concept and engaging storytelling. With its mix of superhero action and workplace comedy, the game looks like it will offer a unique experience for fans of both strategy games and superhero narratives. It’s certainly one to watch as it prepares to hit Steam next year.
