Morgan Wallen Sentenced After Reckless Chair-Throwing Incident in Nashville
Country music star Morgan Wallen has been sentenced to two years' probation following an incident where he threw a chair off the roof of a Nashville bar. The event occurred on April 7th, when Wallen, known for hits like "Last Night," tossed a chair from the six-story rooftop of Chief's, a bar owned by fellow country artist Eric Church. The chair fell onto Broadway, a busy street lined with bars and music venues in the heart of Nashville. The reckless act led to Wallen being arrested the following day.

In addition to probation, the 31-year-old singer must attend a seven-day educational program focused on driving under the influence after pleading guilty to two counts of reckless endangerment. This sentence comes after Wallen's earlier legal troubles, which include an arrest in 2020 for public intoxication and disorderly conduct outside Kid Rock’s honky-tonk bar. That incident, coupled with a 2021 scandal where Wallen was filmed using a racial slur, caused a significant stir in the country music community. He lost his recording contract, was dropped by radio stations, and was suspended from the Country Music Awards for three years.
Despite these controversies, Wallen has continued to thrive in his career. He was recently named Entertainer of the Year at the CMA Awards, showing his resilience and ongoing popularity with fans. In response to the chair-throwing incident, Wallen publicly apologized on social media, acknowledging his behavior and expressing regret for his actions. "I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility," he wrote.
Wallen's actions and subsequent apologies have sparked discussions about accountability and redemption. While his past missteps have impacted his career, his rise back to the top of the country music scene remains a topic of interest. His latest legal troubles, however, serve as a reminder of the consequences that follow reckless behavior, no matter how big a star you may be.
