The Pokémon Company International has announced a collaboration with Aardman Animations, the iconic UK studio behind Wallace & Gromit and Chicken Run . Set to release in 2027, this partnership promises a unique blend of Pokémon's beloved universe with Aardman's signature storytelling and claymation artistry.
Aardman is renowned for its intricate craftsmanship and whimsical narratives, making it a perfect match for the imaginative world of Pokémon. While details remain scarce, a teaser image shared hints of a Poke Ball forming in Aardman’s distinctive clay style, sparking speculation among fans. Could it be a film, a TV series, or perhaps something entirely new? Although no specific storyline or format has been confirmed, both companies assure that this collaboration will bring “brand-new adventures” to audiences.
Taito Okiura, VP of Marketing and Media at The Pokémon Company, expressed his enthusiasm, calling Aardman "masters of their craft" and promising that fans are "in for a treat." Sean Clarke, Managing Director at Aardman, echoed this excitement, emphasizing the shared dedication to heritage and fan engagement. He highlighted the creative potential of merging Aardman’s comedic storytelling with Pokémon’s expansive universe.
