Singapore Marathon 2024 Sets Records with Global Participation
The 2024 Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon has solidified its position as Southeast Asia’s premier endurance race, marking an extraordinary milestone with more than 55,000 runners from 85 countries. Among them, nearly 13,000 were international participants, making it the highest turnout from abroad in the event's history. This strong global presence highlights the marathon’s growing appeal as a must-attend event for both elite and amateur runners worldwide.
This year’s race not only celebrated athleticism but also provided a scenic and challenging route that wove through Singapore’s iconic landmarks. Starting at the F1 Pit Building and culminating at the historic Anderson Bridge, the event beautifully combined urban landscapes with vibrant community support. The competition saw Kenyan Geoffrey Yegon clinch the men’s title with a time of 2:16:06, and Ethiopia’s Fantu Zewude Jifar take the women’s title at 2:39:04, each earning USD $45,000. These victories underscored the event's reputation for attracting top-tier talent from around the globe.
